Training & Ongoing Support
You don’t need to know a torsion spring from a tension spring to open a Doyle Garage Door Repair location. You need the willingness to run a local business the right way, and the discipline to follow a system that’s been tested across more than two decades. We teach you the trade, the operations, the customer experience, and the numbers. You bring the drive. We bring everything else, from week one through the day you’re coaching your own technicians.
Initial Training
Our onboarding program runs from the day you sign until the day you open, and it covers the four areas that decide whether a garage door business survives its first year. You’ll learn the trade itself: how doors, openers, springs, cables, tracks, and safety sensors work together, plus how to diagnose the ten most common failures we see in the field. In Sacramento, for example, we see more spring breaks in July and August than any other time of year because the heat accelerates steel fatigue. That kind of local pattern is exactly what our training teaches you to anticipate.
You’ll also learn the business of running the business. That means software for scheduling, dispatching, invoicing, and customer communication. It means hiring under the Threshold Standard: background checks, identity verification, and the photo-ID protocol that every Doyle technician follows on every single visit. And it means marketing: how to position your location in your market, how to talk to homeowners who are nervous about opening the door to a stranger, and how to convert a phone call into a written quote. Before you open, you’ll know what a good week looks like in revenue, margins, and call volume. No guesswork.
Training isn’t a slideshow. You’ll shadow working technicians, practice on real equipment, and take calls with experienced owners. Aaron Teague, our Owner and Lead Technician, still personally reviews the technical curriculum because he remembers what it’s like to explain a broken spring to a worried homeowner for the first time.
Launch Support
Opening day matters, but the first 90 days matter more. We help you set up your local marketing before the doors open: Google Business Profile, local search positioning, and a lead engine that routes calls to a live person 24/7, not a voicemail tree. That live-answer standard is the same for a brand-new location as it is for a location that’s been running since 2001.
Once the first jobs come in, a launch coach works with you on quoting, scheduling, and handling the conversations that make homeowners nervous. You’ll walk through real job scenarios: a snapped cable, a door off its tracks, an opener that won’t respond. The coach reviews your first quotes, your first scheduling decisions, and your first customer follow-ups. If a repair doesn’t hold, we help you honor the 365-Day Done Right Promise without hesitation. The free second visit isn’t a marketing line. It’s the standard, and we’ll show you how to make it work financially and operationally from job one.
Ongoing Support
Support doesn’t end after launch. Here’s what you can rely on as a Doyle location owner:
- Field coaching: Regular check-ins with a franchise support lead who reviews your numbers, your technician performance, and your customer feedback. If something’s drifting, you’ll know before it becomes a problem.
- Technical hotline: When a technician hits a door configuration or opener issue that doesn’t match anything in the training materials, a senior tech is a phone call away. We’d rather troubleshoot a job for an hour than have a customer wait a day.
- Marketing support: Updated ad templates, local SEO guidance, and review-generation playbooks that keep your location visible in your market without spending recklessly.
- Vendor relationships: Access to national pricing on LiftMaster, Chamberlain, Genie, Clopay, Amarr, Wayne Dalton, Craftsman, and Raynor parts and openers, so your margins stay healthy without sourcing parts from unreliable suppliers.
- Technology updates: Dispatch and scheduling software improvements, customer communication tools, and anything else that reduces friction between a homeowner’s first call and a completed job.
- National brand campaigns: The Threshold Group name and the Doyle brand get consistent national exposure, which means your local customers may already recognize what we stand for before they ever call you.
You’re Never Alone
